My Meltdown...Update 3

Task 3

Organise, File and spreadsheet all of my recipts. I started doing this last year and as of June/July this year i have been very slack so this afternoon & tonight i have successfully entered all the recipts into my spreadsheets.

Feels great to have another part of my life organised. I have no real plan for this 'getting myself out of meltdown' but i am just going along with whatever presents it self to me. I think i should form a plan but i really just don't know where to start.....i am still feeling so lost. I think i need help.

Next step will be to go into the sisterhood and chat to some other sunny mummys and get some advice.

Stay tuned for my next update.....

My Meltdown...Update 2

Task 2.

I decided yesterday that my task was to get through the 3 baskets of Ironing that has piled up since November as i realised that was the last time that i did my weekly attempt at ironing.

Feels great now that they are done!! My Bedroom is also improved now!! Feel slightly more postitve, but still a more to get done before i feel that weight lifted......

Not sure what Task 3 is yet, but i'll report in on that when i do it!!

My Meltdown...Update 1

I am acknowledging that i am having a meltdown..........

Task No. 1

I need to clean out and remove my size 14 clothes that i will not be fitting into right away. Sadly i am in no money position to pass on to charity so i have to come up with some storage in my garage for them till i can fit into them again!!

I keep seeing them in my wardrobe and they are adding to the stress as i see them and think negative thoughts because i know i can't fit into them.

As said by Sunny Mummy Stacey tonight i need to change my Negative Nelly into Positve Penny...

I will have to take task 1 and come up with task 2 tommorow!!!

Teapots.....oh how i love them!!

Teapots are so lovely.
These are such pretty pots i have found on google images. One day i hope to have beautiful teapots just like these.
I also want to share the beautiful nursery rhyme -
"I'm a little tea pot, short and stout.
Here is my handle, here is my spout.
When i get all steamed up, then i shout,
Tip me over, pour me out."

The beautiful teapot/teabag invitation!

I feel like a bit of blogging tonight and i have a perfect topic :-) My Nanna's Tea Party was this afternoon. We were celebrating her 80th birthday. She is such a wonderful lady and it was wonderful to be with her and see all her lovely friends.
It is a wonderful place where my Nanna lives, in the retirement village they have a communal centre that any of the residents can hire out for parties and celebrations. I am also very lucky to be part of a lovely family who all helped out with the preparation and the clean up. We all love our Nanna/Mother so much.
The photos above show all my lovely decorations for the party! I do love party planning and decorating. The next one i am planning is my Pink and Blue Christening celebration lunch for my beautiful children!!

A Lost Present!!!

I am very frantic this evening as i have lost my best friends birthday present....arrgghhh.

I hid it away as she came to my house last school holidays, i remember saying to myself i'll put it away somewhere safe and not obvious so she does not see it accidently. Problem is i can't find it anywhere, i don't even remember what bag it is in. I do remember it's a ring box and earring pouch.

I have made a huge mess in the bedroom pulling out the bottom of our wardrobe and it's currently still on the floor, Dan is not very happy with me for that. I have also been through every possible space in my craft room (which is where i was positive i would find it).

Any hints on how to find something on a deadline?? I have to have it in the post to send to her by sunday evening post pickup, so that it will reach her by Wednesday.

I am going frantically mad.......

A 4th visit to Bella from the Tooth Fairy

In our household this week the Tooth Fairy came for the 4th time to visit Bella! She lost one of her top teeth, a nice big one too! Now she can poke her tongue through it :-)

We also recieved a special letter & coin in our letterbox from the tooth fairy just for Bella. I have attached a photo! This letter suprised me too (it was care of our lovely nieghbors who love bella dearly).

Also a random fact, after checking Bella's baby book for the order of when the teeth came in, they are actually falling out the same order that they grew in!! Very interesting to see if this pattern continues.

Roma Tomato

I went out onto my back balcony this morning, looked down at my Vegie Patch and was so very excited by the colour of red :-)

So out i went in my pajamas to see and pick off our 1st 3 home grown tomatoes!!!!!! Bella of course came running out too with my excitement & it was so lovely to see her reaction to what we had grown ourselfs from just a seedling of a plant!!

I will make a salad tonight and put our home grown tomatos in it, we can't wait to try them and hope that they taste like yummy roma tomatos!
I would like to share this quote i found -

"I used to visit and revisit it a dozen times a day, and stand in deep contemplation over my vegetable progeny with a love that nobody could share or conceive of who had never taken part in the process of creation. It was one of the most bewitching sights in the world to observe a hill of beans thrusting aside the soil, or a rose of early peas just peeping forth sufficiently to trace a line of delicate green." ~Nathaniel Hawthorne, Mosses from and Old Manse

Almost Crawling

Look at me - I'm almost crawling Mum.....

Ryan is so cute at the moment as he is very close to starting to crawl, he gets up on all fours like this and just rocks back and forth ready to get going somewhere but doesnt. Although i think its cute, he finds it sooo frustrating. Little does he know that it will happen very soon and he will find a whole new freedom!!

Toss Out Tuesday

Today is my Toss out Tuesday..... I have done so well and am feeling much better about myself for making a start on my craft room. It was a total mess and i was feeling very lost and unmotivated due to the state it was in.

A few more hours and it should be done and i'll take a photo to prove my work to myself and hopefully not ever let it get to this again. It seriously effects my whole life attitude.

I will blog again tommorow with the success of my toss out tuesday :-)

Back to Reality

I love going away on holidays, but it's always so hard to come home....and i hate unpacking. Worse still that today is Monday, Dan is back at work, and the unpacking is still not finished. I am very grateful though that today is a pupil free day so at least the school stuff holds off for one more day!

Our holiday away was fantastic, we all went to Alexandra Headlands with my parents and my brother & fiance. The Mirage is a beautiful place to stay. Mum & Dad booked us all a great 3 bedroom rooftop apartment. Plus the resort had a few swimming pools (which our water baby bella loved), Tennis Court, Playground & a Gym (i was really good and went to it lots :-).)

Family are so important, I treasure the memories that family holidays like this create. I have declared this my year of the family, as my close freinds will discover as the year rolls on and thier birthdays come around and they recieve the wonderful pieces i have been working on for them. I love my family xoxo, treasure all the moments you have together!

Love is in the air

This is such an exciting year with a July & a November weddings. One for a freind and second for my brother. Such romance and fun in the air with hearing all of the lovely plans. It's nice one is a church wedding & one is a beach wedding. Bella is super excited to be the flowergirl for her uncle's wedding. We are not sure yet if she will wear pink or yellow for her dress, it depends what the bridesmaids get. And for me i better hit the walking so that come the spring/summer range of dresses i can look faboulous. Am not sure about the July cold and what to wear yet....

Yay - so much love is in the air & 2001 will bring two more weddings for us to attend :-)

Time for Gardening!!

It was a great day to get out in the garden today inbetween the rain. For months we have had a garden box ready for a lovely vegie patch & today i finally completed it.

We now have a patch growing -

  • 4 varieties of lettuce
  • Roma tomatoes
  • Beans
  • Carrots

I hope they grow into yummy vegies & dont get eaten by other insects or animals before we get to them.

Bella will be very excited to see this when she returns home this afternoon from her Dad's house.

Addicted to Vinnies

I will admit it honestly i am a bit addicted to looking in St Vinnies Shops. I get such satisfaction :-) Like this week i got a Myer Miss Shop top (new with a $40 tag left on it) for only 50c!!!! Last week i picked up a purple Basque Skirt for only $2, i imagine new it would have cost around $50.

I love bargains, i can justify clothes for myself at these prices :-) It's less than a cup of coffee!!

But my key to this bargain shopping is only looking for name labels when i am sorting through the racks, i find gems everytime :-)

Transforming old into new!!

From Before to after.....a room fit for a princess! After a lot of paint and time, Mum, Dad, Dan & I transformed Bella's room into a beautiful girly space. This was right before Ryan was born so it was wonderful for a big sister to be to have a new room!!

When she turns 6 in April it really will be a princesses room as i have bought for her a net to go over the bed. She saw this on a home decoration show & has asked for it for ages. I can't wait to give it to her :-)

Preserving Memories

On starting this blog i am at the computer doing lots of scanning of all my mother-in-laws photos of the family. It is very interesting looking over the young faces from years ago. I can't wait to have them all on the PC and know that we will have them forever to keep as family memory. I would like to share this poem -

The Strangers in the box
by Pam Harazim
come, look with me inside this drawer
In this box I've often seen
at the pictures, black & white
faces proud, still and serene
I wish i knew the people,
These strangers in the box.
Their names and all their memories
are lost among the socks
I wonder what their lives were like,
how did they spend their days
what about their special times
Ill never know the ways.
If only someone had taken time
to tell who, what & when.
Those faces of my heritage
would come to life again
could this become the fate
of the pictures we take today?
The faces & the memories
someday to be tossed away.
Make time to save your pictures
seize the opportunity when it knocks.
Or someday you and yours could be
The strangers in the box.
I would hate for this to happen for the photos of the Martin Family. So i am spending the time preserving the memories.
